Syllabus Editor – Casual

AGMS is seeking a reliable and detail-focused Syllabus Editor to assist with the preparation, formatting and updating of examination syllabi and related documents.

This is a casual role suited to someone who is highly proficient in Microsoft Word and has an understanding of music examination syllabi and their structure.

About the Role

The Syllabus Editor will work with existing AGMS syllabus material to ensure documents are clearly presented, consistently formatted and ready for publication.

Tasks may include:

  • Formatting and updating examination syllabi using Microsoft Word
  • Applying consistent styles, headings, tables, numbering and page layouts
  • Checking formatting, spelling, punctuation and document consistency
  • Updating repertoire lists, examination requirements and syllabus information
  • Ensuring terminology and presentation are consistent throughout documents
  • Following established AGMS formatting and syllabus guidelines
  • Preparing documents for final review and publication
  • Making corrections and amendments following feedback

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will have:

  • Strong Microsoft Word skills, including styles, tables, headers, footers, page breaks and document formatting
  • An understanding of examination syllabi, ideally within music or music education
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong proofreading and document-checking skills
  • The ability to work accurately with detailed information
  • Good written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • The ability to follow established formatting and editorial guideline
  • The ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines
  • Experience with music examinations, music education, publishing or curriculum documentation would be highly regarded.

This is a casual position, with work offered as syllabus projects and updates are required.
