Brad is a dynamic musician, composer, performer, publisher,arranger, music examiner, educator, clinician and music technologist. He has a passion for classical and contemporary styles and works closely with modern technology, exploring the composing and performance potential of MIDI.

Brad has many compositions and covers (arrangements) listed in various music examination bodies for the new learner through to the virtuosic performer.
He has been the author of several books sold throughout the world and has developed software for music teachers and students.

Brad was the co-director of a private music school in Brisbane – Australia, that taught students from beginner level through to university entrance standard. He is honoured to be part of the AGMS since 2001.

Helen Little

Helen has been teaching music for longer than she cares to remember. She has taught all levels of music from beginners through to tertiary level and is always thrilled to see the development and progress of individuals over time. Helen has also been involved with developing and coordinating a variety of festivals and eisteddfodau, from the National Eisteddfod in Canberra to a music festival in Malaysia.

Currently, Helen spends time adjudicating, examining, and providing workshops in Australia and overseas each year. Recently Helen was asked to conduct the first Australian examinations in Vietnam.

Helen strongly believes in the importance of music in every person’s life and believes that everybody should have the opportunity to explore music-making as part of their education. As a teacher and examiner, her philosophy is “by believing all your geese are swans; you tend to end up with far more swans than you thought possible.”

Denise has been involved in music from an early age and was fortunate to be involved in dancing, speech and drama, choirs, and studied piano and flute.  Some career highlights were working with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and playing as soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in the State Finals of the A.B.C. Instrumental and Vocal Competition.

Denise has been involved in teaching music over the past 58 years. She has taught at Anglican Church Grammar School, St. Aidan’s Anglican College, John Paul College, in Brisbane, and from 2002, on the Gold Coast at Coomera Anglican College, St.Stephen’s College, A.B.Paterson College, and Somerset College. In her career,she has enjoyed conducting Concert Bands, Symphony Orchestras, Flute Choirs,and Choirs, both in schools, church, and in the community. 

Denise has been an examiner of music for the past 34 years and has also been appointed to the Board of Examiners for Diploma and Graduate Diploma Courses for Music and Speech by the Singapore Ministry of Education. She has also enjoyed adjudicating at many Eisteddfodau throughout the country and has given masterclasses in Sabah University, Malaysia, and workshops throughout Malaysia.

Liz Firth is a music educator with over thirty years of experience tutoring students in clarinet and saxophone. Liz has a proven track record of inspiring and developing young musicians from the early stages of musical development. She has taught in numerous prestigious private schools and colleges in Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. A graduate of the Newcastle Conservatorium (DSCM) and Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide University (BMus Hons), Liz was accepted for Masters study in performance at the Royal College of Music in London and for several years served as a casual clarinet player with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. 

Always passionate about music education, Liz enjoys working with her students as they meet the challenges of learning a musical instrument and likes to develop an attitude of “can do” in her students as they discover their musical potential.

Many of Liz’s students have gone on to become musically aware and accomplished young musicians. Having worked in many Australian music industry areas, including teaching, performing,promotions, retail buying, wholesale, marketing and manufacturing, Liz dedicates her time to tutoring young clarinet and saxophone students at her private studio.

Liz is also a partner in andyfirthmusic.com, where she helps to develop and market Andy’s extensive range of educationally oriented sheet music for clarinet, saxophone and flute students.

Andy Firth is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding clarinet players in the world today, having played internationally with some of the finest performers, bands and orchestras in both classical and jazz music. His mastery of the clarinet and saxophone, unrivalled expression of tone and technique, and endless devotion and enthusiasm to the music that he plays, has earned Andy a reputation as a performer not to be missed!

Andy Firth has performed with some of the world's finest musicians: Buddy DeFranco, Ingrid Jensen, Diana Krall, Wynton Marsalis -(associate guest artist) B.B. King - (associate guest artist), Lee Konitz, Gary Motley, Jay Hungerford, Ken Kehner, Joe Berger, Bud Shank, James Moody, Don Lusher, Steve Harlos, Steve Haughton, The Dutch Swing College Band, Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen and Acker Bilk. Australian artists include Maestro Tommy Tycho, Anthony Warlow, Don Burrows, James Morrison, Tommy Emmanuel, Sarah McKenzie, Liam Burrows, Marina Prior, Julie Anthony.

In 1987, Andy's arranging mentor, Maestro Tommy Tycho encouraged Andy to study and develop his own arranging and composition abilities and even gave Andy numerous lessons and compositions for him to study. By 2003, Andy had become an award-winning composer having won awards for his music for television and film. To date, Andy has over 800 compositions to his name some of which are full scale classically oriented or chamber music works.

In 2003, Boosey & Hawkes (London) published Andy's popular woodwind series "Play Clarinet with Andy Firth" and "Play Saxophone with Andy Firth'' and these have now become part of the main list syllabus for Australian and other international woodwind examinations.

Jan has conducted her own Speech and Drama Studio in Albury for over fifty years as well as teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools in Melbourne up until 2012 when she decided to just continue with her own Studio in Albury.

She has produced over thirty musicals and twenty drama productions -some being original productions. Her students have successfully competed in many Eisteddfodau and Competitions throughout NSW; VIC; and TAS. They have performed at the Sydney Opera House and have appeared on national television in Victoria and Queensland.

Jan holds a Fellowship from the London College of Music, an Examiners Licentiate (with over forty years of examining experience) and has had sixty-six students receive their Diplomas - fifty five of them their Associate Diploma. Recently she was awarded a Doctor of Letters Honoris Causa Speech and Drama by the AGME Higher Education Institution.

Bryce Leader

Bryce Leader started playing guitar in 1972 at 9 years of age. Since then, he has earned a teaching degree B.Mus.Ed and a performance diploma in Classical Guitar A.Mus.A. He has been a lecturer in Jazz Studies for the Northern Rivers C.A.E, conducts workshops and lectures for professional music education bodies and runs kids’ guitar holiday workshops and weekly kid’s guitar club. He has been an active performer in the classical, jazz, rock and country genres and has been teaching guitar in Queensland schools since 1988.

Always looking for new ways to engage his students, Bryce has a passion to raise the standard, enhance the outcomes and improve his teaching methods.  This passion led to the development of his newly published book, Copy, Play and Learn Guitar, The Easy, Fun way for Young People, and a series of education units for his older students.

Christina Kay

Christina Kay is the director of Creative Keys Piano Tuition with branches situated in Central Queensland on the Capricorn Coast, and the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. She also runs an online music studio with students from various locations across the country.

Christina has a 35 year history of student music excellence and success, dynamically integrating music technology with traditional methodologies. 

As well as teaching, Christina has produced video tutorials for Yamaha Music Australia on advanced features of Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos, and is also an adjudicator, examiner and music arranger.

Many of her past students have gone on to have careers in the music industry ranging from music teachers and performers both in Australia an overseas, to music executives and concert managers.

Kay has been teaching music in a number of forms for many years. She has taught from Pre-School age to high school in the school setting; and to undergraduates and post graduates in the university sector. Alongside this teaching, Kay has always maintained a private studio which has included teaching piano, organ, flute and singing.

Kay's research has involved many projects in music education; voice protection
for music teachers and inclusive teaching in music. She has published a number of books and is known internationally for her research, having travelled extensively to present at conferences and international symposiums.

Kay has been the Australian national president of ASME and ANCA, and is currently the international secretary for the Australian and New Zealand Association for Music Education.

At the heart of all her teaching, Kay is an advocate for the benefits of music education to all irrespective of age and ability.
